Sarah was called to the bar in 2015, after completing her articles at an established family law firm in downtown Toronto.

Sarah holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design, a Master of Fine Arts from the State University of New York at New Paltz, and a Juris Doctor from Osgoode Hall Law School.

While at Osgoode Hall, Sarah participated in the Poverty Law Clinical Program, during which she spent eight months working as a student caseworker in the Social Assistance, Violence and Health Division at Parkdale Community Legal Services. She also volunteered with the Family Law Project, a Pro Bono Students of Canada program. Sarah was awarded the Mabel Penery French Prize for Law, Gender & Equality; the Annie MacDonald Langstaff Prize for Family Law Policy; and the overall prize for Advanced Family Law, the Albert Weisbrot Q.C. Prize.

Prior to a career in law, Sarah enjoyed a successful decade-long career as a studio artist (jewellery design and metalsmithing) and postsecondary educator.
